The RYA DAY SKIPPER THEORY classroom course takes 40 hours to complete and is run from our lakeside classroom in Lincoln.
We run courses over 6 days rather than 5 as we find by making the days slightly shorter we can and make the learning easier to digest.
We usually run this over 3 weekends but we can organise it through the week if you have a minimum of two people.
We always offer a 'one to one' package where you can book our instructor to deliver the course to you either at our venue or yours at a time to suit you - please see the relevant listing for further information.
We provide endless free tea/coffee, all materials required for the course and a home cooked hot lunch each day.
Included in your course cost are your own dividers, chart plotter and all training charts which you can keep for future use.
The syallbus covers -
The basics of seamanship, essentials of coastal navigation, bouys/buoyage, pilotage, chartwork, position fixing, plotting a course to steer, electronic navigation, weather forecasting and meteorology, tides and tidal streams, collision regulations, lights and shapes, parts of the boat and safety equipment, emergency and safety procedures, personal clothing and life-jackets.
